The bar graph presents the methods inhabitants in four European countries chose to minimize greenhouse gases in 2005.
Overall, each country’s population prioritized different methods to tackle the greenhouse gas problem. The people in Portugal responded the most to the call for environmental action.
Among the given countries, the people of Portugal seemed to be more involved in reducing greenhouse gases. Forty percent did this by adhering to government regulations that aimed to lessen such gases, whereas 30% reduced emissions by altering their lifestyle, and roughly 29% resorted to advanced technology to do the job. Another 20% had other methods. The second country to actively fight climate change was Poland. Its people did this by adjusting their lifestyle (30%), following the government’s rules (26%), and utilizing other means (25%). The Polish citizenry did not rely much on technology to lower emissions, as only 10% affirmed their usage.
The latter two countries, Holland and Estonia, also contributed to the goal of saving the environment. Holland’s top two means of battling greenhouse gases were through advanced technology (30%) and other methods (20%) not defined in the graph. As for Estonia, the people there also favored technology (20%) as the best way to decrease emissions, but they also sought to abide by their government’s policies to address the problem (17%).
