The charts below show the average temperatures in 12 months in three cities and how many hours of sunshine these cities have in a year. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

✍️ 参考范文

The line chart presents the average monthly temperatures in three different cities over the period of a year.

In New York, the temperature in January is below 5 degrees, slightly lower than that in London. In mid-March it exceeds London’s record and then climbs up to nearly 30 degrees in June. After remaining 5 degrees higher than that in London from June to September, New York starts to become colder from October onwards. The decrease eventually goes below 10 degrees in December while London remains around 10 degrees.

The fluctuation of temperatures in Sydney is opposite to the other two cities. January is the warmest month at 30 degrees but a downward trend occurs in the following 5 months, with the temperature drastically dropping by up to 50% before bouncing back to 26 degrees at the end of the period.

New York has the highest record of sunshine exposure (2633 hours) whereas the amount of sunshine London receives is far less than that of the other two cities.

All in all, the records of the highest temperature in Sydney and New York are quite similar. It is possible that the amount of sunshine these two cities receive may affect their average temperatures.
