The illustrations present Southwest airport today and what it will look like after renovation.
Overall, Southwest airport is expected to offer more flights and amenities to travelers once the airport has been revamped.
Currently, Southwest airport can only accommodate eight planes at a time. The terminal does have a café for departing passengers and the airport essentials, such as security, passport checking, and customs, but nothing more. At the moment, passengers must walk to the different airline gates to catch their flights.
However, once the renovation is complete, the airport will be better able to serve its clientele. The airport gates will more than double to 18, allowing more travelers to enter and exit the country. Passengers will not have to walk to the gates, and vice versa, as there will be a sky train. In addition to the standard airline processes for safety and security, the remodeled airport will have more amenities for travelers. Aside from the cafe in the departure area, there will be a baggage drop for passenger convenience and gift shops for last-minute purchases. Furthermore, the arrival area will have a separate cafe for inbound passengers, an ATM for monetary needs, and a car-for-hire service for travelers who wish to drive themselves to their next destination.
