Dear Mike,
I hope all is well. I recently received a job offer from the Smith Engineering Company in Toronto. Basically, it is a 9 to 6 job with a really competitive salary. According to the offer, I will involve in some key projects as soon as I start working there. I am asking for your assistance in providing information which I can use in weighing my decision as to whether I should accept the job offer.
As you know, I recently graduated from the university here. I have never travelled outside my country before and I am eager to expand my horizons and to experience life and culture in Canada. Another reason is that the Smith Engineering Company is known as one of the best engineering companies in the world. I believe my experience with them could provide a steppingstone to a successful career.
As I have never visited Toronto, I'm anxious to confirm that it is a safe city to live in. Are there any bad areas I should avoid when looking for a place to live? Also, how is the public transportation system there?
Awaiting your response; please say hello to your parents for me.
Your friend,
