A friend of yours is thinking about applying for the same course that you did at university. He/She has asked for your advice about studying this subject.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter
• give details of the course you took at the university
• explain why you recommend the university
• give some advice about how to apply
Dear Olivia,
It’s good to hear from you. I think we’ve both been busy the past year, so it’s nice that you reached out.
Regarding your question, I believe that you’d fit right in my current course, Management Information Systems (MIS). You’ve always been good at computers, so you’ll find the subjects interesting. The nice thing about MIS is that you can specialize in particular management tracks, such as marketing, finance, or logistics, which will eventually help when you begin work.
Since Kramer University is one of the respected institutions in the country, you’ll have plenty of job suitors once you graduate. It's a big reason why I chose this school over others. I also like how nearly all the professors have corporate experience, meaning what we learn has real value in the corporate world.
Since the university has become quite popular, getting in can be a challenge. I know you’ve got the necessary grades, and I’m predicting you’ll score well in the entrance exams. But I’ve heard the selection board really looks into the extracurricular activities. So this year, do try to join activities that prove you are socially conscious about the community and the environment. I believe those will give added points to your application.
Good luck!
Your friend,
Owen
