Dear Sir or Madam,
I am a Singaporean student studying at the University of Canterbury at Christchurch. My passport was recently stolen, so I am writing for your assistance.
Three days ago, I was having drinks with friends at a nearby restaurant. As it was a place I regularly frequented, I thought it was safe to leave my clear plastic folder containing my passport on the chair behind me. However, when we were about to leave, I reached over to get my folder, only to find that it was open and my passport was not inside.
After scanning the area to see if it had fallen or was placed on a table nearby, I immediately informed the manager. Unfortunately, no one had handed a passport over to him, and there was no CCTV coverage inside the restaurant. The manager advised me to check the university’s lost and found. Unfortunately, it has been three days, and my passport is still missing.
May I know what I should do next to secure a new passport? I am scheduled to go home for the summer holidays, so I will need a passport soon.
I hope to hear from you soon about my situation. You may reach me at 8888-444-3333 or email me at billychan_2000@gmail.com.
Sincerely,
William Chan
