Dear Ms. Cho,
My college journalism professor, Mr. Xiong, informs me that you may be looking for interns on your newspaper staff. With this letter, I would like to express my interest in one of those temporary positions.
Although my work experience is somewhat limited because of my age, I am currently a sports reporter of my college newspaper at Nanjing University and I had also been the editor-in-chief of my high school newspaper for two years.
Ideally, I would prefer to work on your sports staff. I have previously covered many different sporting events as a reporter and I am quite knowledgeable in that area. As one of your employees, you will find that I am very accepting to supervision and I am also a self-motivator that can work without supervision.
I am aware that the open positions are non-paying internships, but I feel that the experience I could gain in working for your newspaper would be invaluable.
I would welcome the opportunity to interview for a position. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
